Ozone, a young vibrant company in London, is the name behind the UK’s largest premium advertisers platform. With many awards in their back pocket, they were ready to start expanding and growing their mission even further. But as a small company of 87 people still working on growing their name, they were looking for ways to boost the attraction of their company to top candidates. All the while, they wanted to focus on creating a better place to work so they could equally retain the talent they had. So, they decided to tackle this goal through their benefits and insurance offerings. And that’s when they came across YuLife. The goal In 2021, Ozone had yet to find an insurance and benefits product they felt was a perfect fit for their workplace. After all, they wanted to find something that truly reflected the type of culture they wanted to build: collaborative, innovative and fun. They had 3 main goals they wanted to accomplish in their search: 1) Attract vibrant, creative talent They were looking to have an offering that blew competitors out of the water and would help them attract the best, innovative and brightest talent in London and beyond. And for that, they needed a solution that would pull in dynamic and creative people while staying true to their identity as a company. 2) Increase engagement and benefits usage Benefits usage is a common problem among companies. And while it may not seem like a huge problem to many, there’s no doubt that higher benefits engagement rates mean your people are healthier and feel more supported. And when employees are at their best personally — that directly feeds into their output at work. 3) Build a more collaborative, healthier workplaceOne of the main selling points that YuLife had for Ozone was the added element of being able to build a sense of togetherness across the team, and really improve the quality of life and culture of their workers. Especially as an innovative company, they recognised that innovation happens when great (and healthy) minds can come together, and engage in things that aren’t always just about work. That’s why what they would invest in would need to reflect such a value. The solutionThe adviser on the case, John Kerr, came across YuLife when searching for options for Ozone’s young team, and found the interface to be young, innovative and something that would highly resonate with the people Ozone wanted to attract and the feeling they wanted to build in their workplace. So, in 2021, Ozone finally made the switch to implement health and wellness into the core of its benefits offering with YuLife — and it’s been able to address their core goals ever since: 1) It gave them a package that would attract the talent they wanted“Ozone was looking for something different,” John Kerr says. “They wanted something that was going to attract young people, and just dynamic people alike into the place. So I immediately thought YuLife was a good fit.” Part of attracting top talent is by establishing your values, and then actually bringing them to life. And ever since, the whole team at Ozone has been incredibly happy and active on the app — with over half (60%) of them engaging with it on a daily basis. 2) Increasing engagement With YuLife’s all-in-one approach to insurance and wellbeing benefits, engagement becomes higher, and people are more likely to use it regularly, engage with their benefits frequently, and take advantage of the health support they have. “The great thing about YuLife is that everything exists within the app,” says Bryan Scott, CMO of Ozone. “If I want to check out my Income Protection policy, it’s in there. If I want to check out what I’m doing in terms of my fitness movement, that’s in there as well. The fact it lives in that app just means I’m more likely to have that top of mind and visit it regularly. Which, to be honest, I do daily.” 3) Increased wellness and collaboration within their team In more ways than one, the team at Ozone has felt the positive impact of the YuLife app on their day-to-day routines, as well as the work culture in general. “Before joining Ozone, I was in a difficult place,” shares Bipin Patel, Management Account at Ozone. “The YuLife app has tremendously helped me in terms of my energy and wellbeing.” And Bryan, Ozone’s CMO, affirms the shift in collaboration and team wellness since implementing their new benefits package: “There’s a really clear difference between now and when we didn’t have YuLife.” And the numbers are proof — with Ozone’s generating a 93% download rate to date! The results: Their team is also taking full advantage of the extra perks like the virtual GP, as well as the YuCoin vouchers — with £75 redeemed per active user in 2023 alone. “Since I got the YuLife app,” Bryan says, “I’ve had 4 pairs of Nike redeemed. And that’s been amazing.” They also boast countless awards, including a 5-star Glassdoor rating, and have notably created a positive shift in morale and company culture since using the YuLife app. “For Ozone, some real, collaborative app like YuLife is really good,” begins adviser, John Kerr. “It brings all their benefits together — and it brings their people together.”
