Rewards Policy

These rules govern the collection and use of Yu Coins and the acquisition and redemption of Rewards and set out the terms of the contract between Yu Life Limited (“us” or “we”) and each of our Members relating to these matters.

We will set up a Rewards Account for each Member automatically provided they are over the age of 18 and are resident in the United Kingdom.

Yu Coins may be redeemed for Rewards provided by participating Suppliers. These Suppliers may change from time to time – an up to date list of the current Suppliers is available from us at any time.

All Rewards are subject to availability. The terms on which Rewards may be acquired (by redeeming Yu Coins or otherwise) and redeemed are contained in the Terms and Conditions of Redemption applicable to a specific Reward. All current Terms and Conditions of Redemption are available in our App on the relevant Reward details page. To the extent there is a conflict between these rules and applicable Terms and Conditions of Redemption, the applicable Terms and Conditions of Redemption will prevail.

Following the acquisition of a Reward from us, the redemption of that Reward is made directly with the Supplier and we have no responsibility for the delivery, standard, quality or otherwise of any goods and services received or supplied or the failure of a Supplier to honour a redemption or make a specific Reward available.

Yu Coins will be awarded by us to our Members upon the completion of certain actions within our App or external to the App. These actions and the number of Yu Coins that may be awarded may change from time to time at our sole discretion. The App will display up to date details of the Yu Coins available upon the completion of certain actions. There might be a time delay between doing the action and us awarding the Yu Coins. If we suspect fraud or misconduct, we may prevent or reverse the award of Yu Coins.

Yu Coins will expire and be lost if (i) the relevant Member cancels their subscription with us, (ii) the relevant Member has not earnt or redeemed any Yu Coins for a period of 12 months, or (iii) the rewards programme terminates. Where points are redeemed for a voucher, the voucher will have an expiry date specified on it. Redeemed Yu Coins cannot be used again. If a transaction on which Yu Coins were issued or redeemed is cancelled, reversed or not completed, we will reverse the associated Yu Coins movement.

An up to date record of the Yu Coins acquired and redeemed by a Member will be kept by us in a Rewards Account. Information about your Rewards Account is available via our App. We will correct or adjust a Rewards Account if we are shown to our reasonable satisfaction to be wrong in our records, but all such corrections or adjustments remain at our sole discretion.

Yu Coins are personal to a Rewards Account and cannot be transferred. On the death of a Member, the Yu Coins in their Rewards Account will be converted into Rewards selected by their specified beneficiaries.

Yu Coins can only be collected, held, transferred or redeemed as set out in these rules. Any other use, award, sale, exchange or transfer of Yu Coins, or attempt to do so, is a serious breach of these rules. Any Yu Coins not collected and held in accordance with these rules will be invalid and cannot be redeemed for Rewards. Any such points on a Rewards Account will be deducted and, if they are redeemed, we will ask the Supplier to cancel the relevant Rewards and we may take other appropriate action. Yu Coins have no cash value.

Each Member is responsible for the security of their Rewards Account and the Rewards issued in relation to that account. If a Member thinks an unauthorised person has become aware of any security code, password or other security details relating to their Rewards Account, they should contact us immediately. Rewards and vouchers should be treated like cash. We cannot be responsible for any unauthorised use of Yu Coins or any lost or stolen Rewards or vouchers.

We may, by notifying a Member, immediately suspend or terminate the rights of that Member and/or close their Rewards Account if they breach these rules, if we reasonably believe they have acquired or otherwise dealt with Yu Coins in a manner not permitted in these rules, if they supply false or misleading information to us (including electronic information submitted via our App or our API) or if they are abusive or offensive to any member of our staff. If a Rewards Account is closed, all rights to redeem Yu Coins from that account are terminated and we will instruct our Suppliers to cancel any Rewards acquired from that account.

We may make changes to these rules at any time and will give Members as much notice as we reasonably can of these changes. Continued use of our App and/or the continued collection and redemption of Yu Coins will constitute acceptance of these revised rules. We may suspend or terminate the rewards programme and, if we do so, all Rewards Accounts will be suspended or terminated without compensation.

If you breach these rules and we take no action against you this does not mean that we have waived our rights and remedies with regard to your breach. We may still take action or exercise our rights and remedies for that action, or any other situation, where you breach these rules.

If any provision of these rules should be held to be invalid or unenforceable, the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions of these rules are not affected. Such invalid or unenforceable provision shall be replaced by a valid and enforceable provision which most closely achieves the economic effect contemplated by the invalid or unenforceable provision.

We will do our best to resolve any disputes about these rules, Yu Coins and Rewards Accounts. If you wish to bring a legal claim against us, you must do so within the United Kingdom (and English courts shall have the exclusive jurisdiction for your legal claim). The laws of England and Wales shall apply to any such claim and all non-contractual relationships between you and us.

The following definitions apply to these rules:

  • Member: an individual person who is covered by insurance placed by Yu Life Limited from time to time.
  • Rewards Account: the record we keep of the Yu Coins collected and redeemed by a Member and the Rewards acquired or redeemed by that Member.
  • Supplier: a participating business which has agreed with us to provide Rewards to our Members, subject to the relevant Terms and Conditions of Redemption.
  • Terms and Conditions of Redemption: The specific additional terms on which a specific Reward may be acquired and/or redeemed.
  • Yu Coins: the denomination of a Member’s entitlement to redeem Rewards. For the avoidance of doubt, Yu Coins have no cash value.
