We’re proud to do things differently at YuLife. Developing an innovative mobile solution has allowed us to turn prosaic insurance products into life-enhancing experiences that deliver value for employees and employers alike.Across sectors and business sizes, managers are often seeking the “cultural fit” – in the knowledge that like-minded team members can build stronger workplace cultures, and better businesses. In fact, one survey found that 80 percent of employers worldwide cite ‘cultural fit’ as a top priority. The YuLife mission is to ‘Protect lives. Inspires Life. Rewards Living.’ We are driven by a mission to improve and impact lives – and this starts at home. Our culture and our values are so important to us at YuLife. We wear our values very proudly, emblazoned on our hearts – and on our t-shirts. But we also believe that our clients aren’t just buying a commodity, a product for their staff: they’re entering into a partnership with us that will see us support them in creating their own engaging cultures of wellbeing.Whether it’s employees, business partners, or investors, finding the right ‘fit’ is paramount to maintaining a carefully curated and cherished workplace culture. We don’t just want to just talk the talk – we want to walk the walk. We are phenomenally proud to have colleagues, clients, investors and strategic partners that align with our values, and will allow us to expand our business while maintaining this fundamental part of our DNA, and what makes us YuLife. How YuLife creates its colleague cultureCreating our culture comes, in part, through a comprehensive program of benefits and employee rewards. It starts with the essentials. When you become a member of the YuCrew, you’re able to take advantage of 24 days annual leave – plus a day off for your birthday – and join a contributory pension scheme into which we pay the equivalent of 3% of your basic salary.“Listening to our colleagues is so important to us."We’re as flexible as possible with working hours. Our core office hours are 9am to 5pm, but we appreciate that some people work better at different times of the day. We’re just as flexible about where work is completed, and we’ve fully embraced hybrid and remote working.Cali Gold, YuLife Head of People, says: “Listening to our colleagues is so important to us: we hold regular feedback sessions and surveys that have allowed us to not guess, but know what everyone’s preferences are – and it’s how our working model has grown.”Wellbeing benefitsWellbeing is at the heart of everything we do, including our employee benefits insurance. Our ‘Be Your Best Yu’ scheme allows colleagues to claim back £20 each month for wellbeing treatments, for example. It can be put towards anything that will help balance the body and mind – from a gym membership or a yoga class to apps and books. We’re a social bunch too. There’s an opportunity to get involved with our weekly running club, monthly yoga sessions, regular workshops and other in-person and remote events. Recognising the feel-good factor that comes with giving back, and being a part of the community, YuLife has also joined forces with onHand to enable the team to volunteer time to help those in the local community that need it.Rewarding appsThe YuLife employee app inspires our clients to make small steps towards a healthier life – and rewards them as they do so. As part of the team, YuCrew get to experience all of the benefits of the app as well. For every mile that is walked or a mindfulness task that’s completed in the app, YuCoin is earned. These can then be redeemed for real-world rewards, such as Amazon and ASOS vouchers, or invested in social impact benefits and environmental causes, including tree-planting via Earthly. The YuLife app also features a wealth of exclusive wellbeing offers and discounts, as well as giving access to EAP benefits, all from a smartphone. Our UK YuCrew can also access a Health Cash Plan via the Medicash app. This includes benefits across dental, optical, health screening, prescriptions and diagnostic tests.Getting a doctor’s appointment at the time that’s convenient for you isn’t always easy, but YuCrew members and their families get unlimited access to a 24/7, 365 virtual GP service via the Smart Health by AIG app. Not only are you able to have a 30-minute consultation by phone or video, you can access other medical services, such as mental health support and an online fitness programme. In addition to these apps, Learnerbly, is available – YuLife’s chosen learning platform. We give a personal learning budget that can be put towards L&D through webinars, podcasts, journals and more.(Yu)Life coachesFree workplace coaching sessions are available for all YuLife team members. We give everyone the opportunity to enjoy one-to-one confidential online support sessions via More Happi every month. With coaches specialising in work, relationships, parenting and more, the sessions are an opportunity for people to focus on self-development in all areas of their life.In recognition that financial health is a key component of overall health, there is free financial coaching that we offer through Octopus MoneyCoach. The coaches are able to offer independent advice to make the most of money, no matter where a person is in their financial journey. If the journeys you need to make are on the road, we have a salary sacrifice scheme that enables employees to get a new electric car every two or three years. The service, run by TCH Salsa, lets team members put part of their salary before it’s taxed towards the monthly rental for a car. Despite having to pay company car tax, it will be less than the savings made in income and National Insurance.Financial wellbeingOur group insurance policies are designed to give you peace of mind and financial protection for our team and their families when they need it most – this is how we protect our teams.Group Income Protection means that those off sick for eight weeks for a medically validated reason will receive 75% of their salary for the following two years. We’ve got group life insurance covered too. Every employee is protected by a YuLife policy that’s worth six times salary, so they know that the people who they care about will be supported if they’re not around to do that themselves. Some choose to make a difference to the world by leaving some or all of the payout to a favourite charity.Family supportTo help parents make the most of their son or daughter’s preschool years, we offer 16 weeks of leave at full pay for all parents during the child’s first five years. That works out as eight weeks at birth and an additional eight weeks of parental leave that can be used at any point up until a child's 5th birthday.New joiners with a child under five years old will be offered up to eight weeks of enhanced parental leave at full pay, depending on the child's age when they join.We recognise that breastfeeding has many benefits for new mothers and their children, which is why we have a workplace breastfeeding policy. Any reasonable breaks can be taken whenever there’s a need to pump/express milk or breastfeed babies, and we have a dedicated, lockable room with comfy chairs to make them feel more comfortable. For those with children in nursery care can save tax and National Insurance on the cost of nursery fees each month through the Workplace Nursery Benefit. Unlike childcare vouchers, the amount saved is not capped, so even more money can be saved.
