Capitalising on employee wellbeing with YuLife and Fiscale
We spoke to HR director Lucie Mayhew-Smith about how YuLife has helped them create a culture of wellbeing and has driven an increase in healthy behaviour.

Fiscale is a tax advisory company specialising in helping businesses capitalise on the Government’s Research & Development Tax Credits scheme. Their aim is to demystify these valuable tax reliefs and address the common perception that applying for Tax Credits relief is complex and stressful.
As a company that “cares about the wellbeing of its employees”, the leadership team at Fiscale wanted to go above and beyond when providing their people with a wellbeing solution. So, in 2019, they partnered with YuLife. Human Resources Director Lucie Mayhew-Smith shares her experience so far.
Something that initially attracted Lucie to YuLife was the comprehensiveness of its offering: “supporting the pillars of wellbeing through gamification and financial rewards whilst still receiving an insurance benefit.” This meant Fiscale were able to provide staff with critical protection and support whilst also taking steps to address overall wellness.
Fiscale has access to the gamified wellbeing app that rewards employees for engaging in positive behaviours. This has “promoted a culture of wellbeing” within the team. Many actively use the company leaderboard, where colleagues compete to reach the top of the podium for walking the most steps.

Partnering with YuLife has also driven an increase in meditation among the team, with practising users completing an average of 35 mindfulness minutes per day. Fiscale decided to provide employees with subscriptions to digital mindfulness apps to support this. “Most of the team have Calm or Headspace and Fiscale pay for the subscription”, said Lucie.
Lucie herself is a YuLife enthusiast and avid user of the app: “I love YuLife, I think I am your biggest fan!” She particularly enjoys “the leader board, completing in challenges and spending reward YuCoin” and has adopted some wonderful habits as a result. “I now do the daily calm and try and ensure to complete 2 walking challenges per day, which was hugely beneficial during lockdown.”
