Partnering with YuLife was a no-brainer for the socially conscious ethos of Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust (BBOWT). At BBOWT, the overall success is measured through improved habitats, and an increase in the numbers of the public engaged with making changes for wildlife. In 2020, BBOWT chose to implement YuLife as their insurance partner. We sat down with Louise Millson, HR Manager who discussed the impact YuLife has made on employees’ peace of mind and overall engagement at work.

The Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust is one of 46 Wildlife Trusts working across the UK. Since 1959, they have worked with local people to make Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire rich in wildlife and to protect special places for generations to come.

This has driven an increase in physical activity and mindfulness: “We’ve had people tell us that earning YuCoin has inspired them to get out and exercise more and others who’ve found the Calm app hugely beneficial at this stressful time we’re in and have used the soundscapes, sleep stories and the various meditation options to help. ”
The team found that introducing team activity and competition through YuLife was a great way to drive non-work related fun and conversation: “I’ve been in Teams meetings and heard conversations start about the leaderboard between all kinds of different employees.”
This is in stark contrast to traditional insurance benefits, which often sit somewhere gathering dust until the unfortunate necessity of a claim. YuLife drives engagement and facilitates cross-departmental, non hierarchical interaction for employees.
